Each year, the San Francisco General Foundation joins with the public health community to honor those within the community who go above and beyond to care for San Francisco’s people. Our Heroes demonstrate exceptional and inspirational expertise in health care and we honor them by sharing their stories at the annual Heroes & Hearts luncheon in February. In February 2017 Anais Amaya and Jia-Min Cheng were co-recognized for their programmatic partnerships that extend the care of ZSFG patients, and connect them directly to resources that help them overcome legal obstacles in their lives that impact their and their families’ health and well-being. Through Health Advocates and the Medical-Legal Partnership, Anais and Jia-Min are improving the quality of life for ZSFG patients and helping advance the health outcomes of patients seeking care.
